Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles, also known as Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas in Spanish, is a biographical animated film from 2018. It is directed by Salvador Simó and features a screenplay by Eligio R. Montero and Simó himself. The film is based on the graphic novel Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas by Fermín Solís and focuses on the life of renowned film director Luis Buñuel during the production of his 1933 film, Land Without Bread. In August 2019, the film was shortlisted as one of the top three contenders to be selected as the Spanish entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 92nd Academy Awards. However, it ultimately lost to the film Pain and Glory.
